In the summer of 2006 an e-mail was sent out to our captains to determine the interest level in the company developing management courses. We are extremely pleased with the response that we received. We already knew that our Captains were the most able in the industry but we were pleased to see that they had maintained their humility and agreed that help in this area was needed and welcomed. Some of the comments received: "Never can have enough education in regards to your job or work-place;" "I am always interested in furthering my education;" and "Every class that has anything to do with our job makes us a little better at it."
We could not agree more with these sentiments. That is why SEACOR Marine is pleased to announce the SEACOR Maritime Management Program. This online program (also known as distant learning), is being offered in conjunction with the Schneider Institute. Our program involves online education which will result in a diploma in the SEACOR Maritime Management Program.
This online program will initially be offered to Captains and consists of five courses that will take 16 months to complete. Although this time frame seems long, the dedication will be well worth it. In the five courses, computer programs - Excel and Word - will be taught, written and spoken communication will be enhanced and finally management skills will be sharpened. Tuition is paid for by the enrollee but can be reimbursed by SEACOR Marine based on grade performance in each of the five courses.

The first online class begins on Nov 1 and enrollment begins immediately with a maximum student count of 20 per class. Because class size is limited, enrollment will be granted on the basis of seniority once the target class size is reached. In order to guarantee placement please, enroll early!
